Cocktails | Game of Thrones-inspired Cocktails for the Final Season

The highly anticipated Game of Thrones final season just opened and it seems like everyone is hopping on the HBO coattails hoping for praise and hype. NY Cocktail Expo is happy to oblige as well. With almost 10 years of televised dramatic history under its belt, GoT is positioned to be one of the most impactful and acclaimed series of this generation! That said, this marks the beginning of a cocktail series that you can follow to the final season!
Dracarys, the now iconic command that Daenerys Targaryen uses to cue her dragon’s epic fire attacks, seemed like the perfect opportunity to make a swizzle-style equally epic tiki cocktail for kicking off week 1 of the GoT craze!
1 ½ oz Rittenhouse Rye
¾ oz Smith and Cross Jamaican Rum
¾ orange-mango juice
½ John D Taylor’s Velvet Falernum
½ Ginger syrup
¾ Aperol (submarined)
Combine all ingredients except the Aperol into a shaker tin. Whip shake with a few pebbles of ice. Pour the Aperol at the bottom of chilled swizzle glass. Add pebble ice. Pour the cocktail into the glass and swizzle (Careful not to disturb the Aperol at the bottom). Add more pebble ice. Garnish with pineapple fronds and a flaming lime half.* Real fans will also find tini dragons to garnish with
